The IRL Safety Code
Every challenge we publish has to pass these rules first. They apply to every kit, for every group, whether it’s an office party, a night in with friends or a month of side quests.
1. Points, never speed or risk
No challenge rewards being fastest, highest or most daring. Nobody needs to run, climb or race.
2. No dares, no stunts
Nothing that could hurt anyone, damage anything, or that someone would regret the next day.
3. No eating or drinking tasks
No challenge involves alcohol, eating, tasting or forfeits. Drinks of any kind, or none, are always fine.
4. Strangers aren’t props
No challenge involves approaching, filming or putting pressure on people you don’t know.
5. Anyone can pass
Anyone can sit out or swap any challenge, at any time, with no reason needed and no penalty. Where teams score, they score together, so nobody lets their team down.
6. No posting required
Nothing needs a phone, an app or social media. Photos are optional, only of people who’ve said yes, and never posted without everyone’s agreement.
7. Kind, not cruel
Humour is aimed at ideas, never at people. Nothing about looks, bodies, beliefs, health, money or anything someone might be sensitive about.
8. Made for everyone
We avoid challenges that need particular abilities, equipment or spending. Most cost nothing, and the kits say clearly what to do if a challenge doesn’t suit someone.
Who our kits are for
- Our kits for friends and workplaces are designed for adults aged 18 and over.
- Any school or family edition is designed to be run by teachers, staff or parents, never by children on their own.
- The organiser is responsible for choosing suitable challenges, checking the space and following any venue or workplace rules.
